Ken & Betty moved to Fort Atkinson in 1987, to start a restaurant.  They purchased “The Lamp” on Lake Koshkonong and ran a very successful business until the flood of “08”. They found a great place to raise their sons, but missed their family & friends back home in Philadelphia, not to mention the absence of a true Philly Cheese Steak.  The vacant building at 41 Sherman Avenue in Fort Atkinson screamed “Philly Steak Shoppe”, so in 1996 “Ken & Betty’s” was born.   “The commitment to finding the best quality and authentic ingredients to create this home town specialty was monumental and necessary.” Ken said. “We have to do it right or not do it at all”!  Ken even has “Tastykakes” and “Heard Potato Chips” shipped in to complete your out east experience.  So do yourself a favor and come let the juice run down your face!  Visit Fort Atkinson’s own little bit of the ‘City of Brotherly Love’!
